A Record of Working for You
Chris Kerrigan is a fourth generation Humboldt County resident. He served two terms on the Eureka City Council from 2000-2008, and was President of the Redwood Region Economic Development Commission. During those years he also managed the campaign for the passage of measures S and T, two Eureka City School infrastructure bonds. On the Eureka City Council Chris Kerrigan was a strong proponent of smart growth planning principles, and worked to get housing, employment and recreational opportunities within the core areas of Eureka. Chris also brought forward a marriage equality resolution and an ordinance to extend the library’s hours, despite having no support from the rest of the City Council on these issues.
After serving eight years on Eureka City Council, Chris went back to school and earned a degree in Political Science from Humboldt State University. He started volunteering with the Boys and Girls Club and Keep Eureka Beautiful, and is now on the Board of both organizations. Chris is enrolled in a law office study program with the California State Bar Association, and works as a paralegal.
Chris Kerrigan is proud to be a lifetime democrat. He believes in protecting democratic values such as: fairness, quality of life, workers, the environment, and equality.
